Announcing Calvin ‘k1ng’ Truong has renewed his contract with Dire Wolves heading into 2018!
Reuniting with the Wolfpack this season, k1ng has had an impressive year throughout both Split 1 and 2, taking out two consecutive OPL titles with the team. Through Calvin’s focus on improvement, we’ve seen significant growth and development not only as a player, but as a key team member of Dire Wolves.
Calvin has continually been able to make sacrifices for broader team advantages, and embodies the willingness to implement new and innovative processes to grow as a player and eventually a leader.
Calvin will be joining Shernfire in Korea at the end of this month for an extended boot camp during the off-season. He’ll be using this time to refine his skills in Korean Solo Queue, giving our team and Oceania the best chance possible in putting forward a world class performance internationally.
“Every year in my career has been a huge learning experience, but 2017 for me stands out the most being abundant with lessons to learn from, so I’m choosing to stay on that path. Dire Wolves moving forward will continue to have the best environment for me to succeed and I’m excited to continue my journey with them. 2018 is a year I’m excited for as we look to prosper internationally.” – Calvin ‘k1ng’ Truong
“Calvin has been one of the most coachable and receptive players that I’ve had the pleasure of working with. His drive to constantly improve and ability to see the broader team view, makes me look forward to massive season in 2018.” – Coach Curtis ‘Sharp’ Morgan
