We’re excited to welcome Charlie Wraith (formerly Pinch) to the pack as Dire Wolves’ Head Coach moving into 2019.
One of our key learnings from this year was just how important leadership in the form of coaching staff is to the success of a team. The decision to bring on Charlie in a new coaching structure with Curtis as Performance Director reflects this.
Charlie began his coaching career in 2016, reaching the semi-finals in his debut OPL split with Avant Gaming. Since then, he has acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience in the League of Legends scene coaching players both online and in-house as Head Coach of Avant with a strong record of playoff finishes.
Coach Curtis will now be taking on a broader role in the organisation as Head of Performance, upholding a standard across all aspects of the business as well as continuing to work hands on with Charlie and the team.
“This move as well as our roster decisions going into 2019 have been a long time in the works. After four dominant OPL Splits with little international success, I strongly believe a future where we do find accomplishment on the world stage lies within players that are open minded and hungry to adapt to our newly formed systems to bring about high performance. To achieve this I needed to bring on like minded individuals and I’m thrilled to say I have this with Charlie, and am looking forward to tackling the challenges that come with the OPL season together.” – Curtis Morgan, Performance Director
“After talking with Curtis and Nathan, it was clear that we were aligned on our philosophy on high performance with an emphasis on player development. As the Head Coach of Dire Wolves in 2019, I have an amazing opportunity to build something that I will be proud to be apart of.” – Charlie Wraith, Head Coach
“Charlie is everything we look for in a Dire Wolf with a relentless pursuit of mastery in his craft and a fine attention to detail. Having Charlie on board now allows us to really double down on developing the next generation of League of Legends players in Oceania into world class competitors.” – Nathan ‘Rippii’ Mott, Founder & CEO
