End of an Era: DW SMITE
Today, it is with a heavy heart we announce DW Smite’s, Rowe, Ochita, RichardCastle and kikiomeo have decided to step away from competitive SMITE to move onto the next stage of their lives.
Over the past year the team has acquired a number of notable achievements from representing Oceania at the 2017 World Championships, an undefeated run in the first split of the year, a thrilling match against the former World Champs at SMITE Masters and taking out IEM Sydney on the community stage in dominating fashion.
As a result, Rowe, Ochita, RichardCastle and kikiomeo have been released from the Dire Wolves organisation. MingyuSeo has expressed he will continue to compete in the upcoming SMITE OPL split.
"Playing competitive Smite under the Dire Wolves name has been an incredible journey, I have nothing but respect for Nathan and Dave - and hope our paths can cross again elsewhere in the esports industry. Thank you to all of the Dire Wolves fans too, I can't imagine a more passionate following of supporters." - Daniel 'Rowe' Rowe
“This group of guys have been the face of Oceanic SMITE the last 3 years. It's sad to see them go, however being a former player myself, I understand there comes a moment when it's time to hang up the mouse and keyboard. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with them over the time we've been in SMITE. On behalf of everyone at Dire Wolves we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.” - Nathan ‘Rippii’ Mott, Founder & CEO Dire Wolves
